Lyrically, “Silver And Steel” dives straight into the gritty world of Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher book series. The song focuses directly on the complex psychological weight carried by the protagonist, Geralt of Rivia.
Geralt of Rivia is not an easy character, and neither is his standing as a witcher in the Continent’s unforgiving landscape. Known to almost everyone as a mutated abomination paid solely to slaughter other abominations, Geralt’s rigid moral and philosophical code creates a profound thematic paradox: the perceived monster is often far better and more humane than the very society he defends.
The mutual hatred runs deep between the mutated outcast and a regular population driven by fear.
